Prof. Dr. Bernd Siebenhüner

Professor for Ecological Economics

Prof. Dr. Bernd Siebenhüner, born in 1969, studied economics and political science at the Free University of Berlin. From 1996 to 2001, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Environmental Management at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and completed a postdoctoral research stay at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in 2000-2001. After a successful interim evaluation as a junior professor at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, he was appointed to the Chair of Ecological Economics in January 2007. From 2010 to the end of 2015, Prof. Dr. Siebenhüner was Vice President for Young Academics and Quality Management at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg.

Prof. Dr. Siebenhüner coordinates the Master's degree programme Sustainability Economics and Management.

Main research interests:

  • collective learning processes
  • ecological economics
  • environmental education
  • ecological ethics
  • German and international environmental policy
  • conceptual questions of sustainability.

Consultation hours take place every Thursday from 4-6 pm.
